***Update July 2020***
We are hoping to re-open this month, but until the GVT COVID restrictions allow greater freedoms we remain closed, much to the frustration of our members. The very nature of our activities means we are in closer proximity than social distancing indoors rules allow.
Group Aims & Activities:
Charity 5thAge has been providing social activities for over 55s for more than 25 years, helping people to overcome the negative effects of isolation and loneliness.
Meeting on Tuesdays between 2pm and 4pm at Heighton View Community Centre, Aughton, there is lots to do, different games to play, including darts, dominoes and scrabble, chats and films to watch. We also have occasionally have speakers on interesting topics.
As part of our activities we are now offering free basic lessons in using a computer tablet for the ‘nervous novice’. To try out the internet etc.
Membership is free and we charge £1.50 per session which includes refreshments. Meals can be arranged at a cost but must be pre-booked.
The building has step-free access and is disabled friendly.
So why not just drop in and say hello, we’re a friendly bunch and always keen to welcome new visitors.
People currently attend from Aughton and the surrounding areas such as Aston, Swallownest, Todwick, Treeton, Ulley and Wales.
