Group Aims & Activities

Charity 5thAge has been providing social activities for over 55s for more than 25 years to prevent people becoming isolated or lonely.

Meeting on Tuesdays between 2pm and 4pm at Heighton View Community Centre, Aughton, there is lots to do, different games to play, including darts, dominoes and scrabble, chats and films to watch. We also have occasionally have speakers on interesting topics.

As part of our activities we are now offering free basic lessons in using a computer tablet for the ‘nervous novice’. To try out the internet etc.

Its completely free to attend the activities and it costs just £1.50 for tea and biscuits. Meals can be arranged at a cost but must be pre-booked.

The building has step-free access and is disabled friendly.

So why not just drop in and say hello, we’re a friendly bunch and always keen to welcome new visitors.

People currently attend from Aughton and the surrounding areas such as Aston, Swallownest, Todwick, Treeton, Ulley and Wales.
