    About us

    We’re a local charity working in the community to support older people, their families and carers. We want everyone to be able to love later life.

    Age UK Rotherham is an independent local charity. We’ve been working in the local community to help older people for over 30 years. We have around 50 dedicated staff and around 100 volunteers helping us to deliver services and activities for older people in Rotherham.

    Our services

    Our services include:

    • A Little Bit of Help – practical help with everyday tasks so you can stay independent for longer. We provide regular support at home and out and about. There is a charge for this service as we do not receive any funding to provide it. By buying this service you are helping us to continue to support older people in Rotherham.
    • Information and Advice Service – advice for older people, carers and family members. Contact our team of advisers Monday – Friday 9:30am – 3.30pm for more information.
    • The Hospital Aftercare Service – support, information and assistance for carers and patients following discharge home from hospital.
    • Link Line – a telephone service which provides older people with a friendly phone call each morning to offer reassurance and support to help alleviate loneliness and isolation.

    Furniture Warehouse and shops

    We have a Furniture Warehouse, located on the Eastwood Trading Estate in Rotherham, which offers for sale a large selection of pre-loved, quality furniture and household items at affordable prices.

    The Furniture Warehouse relies on donations of good quality, saleable furniture from the public and can collect large items for free. The Furniture Warehouse is open 9.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday (closed on bank holidays). Delivery is also available for an additional charge.

    Fundraising

    We hold several fundraising events throughout the year, for example a Charity Golf Day, a Gala Dinner, Running event, Afternoon Tea and more. Details about events are featured on our website and social media. Visit our website to find out how you can get involved.
