The History Group meets in the William Layne Reading Room, Aughton Lane, Aston on the first and third Mondays of the month 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm.  (When the first Monday is a bank holiday, the meeting moves to the following Monday.)

On the first Monday we have a general meeting of members and on the third Monday we usually have a speaker.

Visitors are welcome at the talks, with a charge of £3.00, including refreshments.

The History Group takes a break during August and meetings begin again on the first Monday in September.

We are involved with an annual local history fair organised by local history groups in North Derbyshire and South Yorkshire and we also take an active part in local events such as the  Aston Carnival and Heritage Open Days.
