    Group Aims

Cavendish Cancer Care is a Sheffield charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with cancer and their loved ones. Since 1991, we’ve been helping people across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Run by a hardworking team of staff and volunteers, Cavendish provides a place where people can share feelings and thoughts without guilt or the fear of upsetting anyone. We help people feel more in control, more confident and more able to cope.

    Group Activities

We offer free of charge support to people who need us, both from our centre on Wilkinson Street, and at our outreach locations in the Northern General, Weston Park, Royal Hallamshire and Chesterfield Royal Hospitals.

By calling 0114 278 4600, you will receive an initial assessment within 5 working days. There, you will decide on the best course of action for you: whether that’s counselling, massage, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, or something else!

We offer all sorts of different complimentary therapies designed to alleviate both the emotional strain of cancer and the physical pain that can come with the illness. We even run a specialised Young People’s Service, and see people affected by Motor Neurone Disease as well as cancer. In 2018, we provided 5500 hours of free therapy sessions to people in our community.

We receive a small amount of NHS funding, but this only covers the cost of keeping our doors open for two weeks. Therefore we rely almost entirely on the generous support of volunteers, fundraisers and donors. If you want to know more, don’t hesitate to get in touch, or visit our website:
