Group Aims & Activities
Haven was established over 40-years ago as an independent charity delivering specialist services across Sheffield and potentially South Yorkshire. Our focus is on children and young people (CYP) affected by Domestic Abuse, we are the only organisation in Sheffield fulfilling this role.
Our mission for the future is to influence, develop and provide specialist services for children, young people and their families at risk of or affected by domestic abuse. Haven currently provides a range of needs-led services to support C & YP, aged 5-25 years old and their wider family:
- CandYP: 1 to 1 work with the CYP, main carer and a Haven practitioner (abusive relationship must have been ended for 6 months)
- Helping Hands: Peer group for children aged 5- 11
- Bouncing Back: Peer group for young people aged 11- 16
We are developing a programme that will enable us to work with younger children and will have more information about this shortly. We also offer training and information sessions for professional bodies and schools on request.
