    Group Aims and Activities

Whatever happens as we get older, we all want to remain independent and live life on our own terms. That’s why, as well as offering regular friendly contact and a strong campaigning voice, Independent Age can provide you and your family with clear, free and impartial advice on the issues that matter: care and support, money and benefits, health and mobility.

We provide free and confidential advice on social care issues such as getting help at home, adaptations to your home, finding and paying for care, benefits and local activities to combat social isolation.

If you or an older person you know need advice, please contact our advice line on 0800 319 6789 or email us at advice@independentage.org  We are happy to take referrals from other organisations and professionals working with older people.

We also produce a series of ‘Wise Guides’ – practical handbooks on money matters, care and support at home, residential care and making the most of the health service. They are packed with information, tips and useful contact details.

Call or email the advice line above to receive your free copies. Our range of factsheets can also be downloaded free of charge.
