Keeping Families in Mind provides support for military families. It is provided by Sheffield Mind and funded by the Armed Forces covenant fund trust. The service aims to support military families during deployments which can be difficult for families due to extra responsibilities, loneliness and isolation, safety concerns and readjustments when family members return. It also aims to support families during and after transition out of the Armed Forces during difficulties such as the impacts of PTSD on families.
Keeping Families in Mind offers free counselling and monthly support groups throughout South Yorkshire. Both counselling and the support groups are free.
Counselling is available to anyone living in South Yorkshire who has a family member currently serving in the Armed Forces, or if they have a family member who is a veteran. Counselling is provided in community venues and our therapist will aim to select the best venue for your location. Counselling is confidential and no information is shared with the MOD or families. For more information please contact us.
Support groups are held monthly to offer a space for military families to meet other and share experiences. Tea, coffee and cake are provided. Rotherham support group is currently being set up. If you are interested in attending please contact us.
