    Group aims

    Manvers Waterfront Boat Club is a rapidly growing multi sports club based at Manvers Lake in Wath-upon-Dearne, South Yorkshire. Activities based here so far include canoeing & kayaking, dragon boating, triathlon, running, open water swimming, windsurfing, sailing, fishing, model boating, sub-aqua, biking and wildlife conservation.

    Aims & Objectives of Manvers Waterfront Boat Club:

    1. To develop new and existing facilities at Manvers Lake and the surrounding area.

    2. To provide for all a clean, safe space where active recreation, is balanced with environmental issues.

    3. To encourage participation primarily in canoeing and kayaking but also angling, athletics, sailing, swimming, triathlon, windsurfing, and other eligible sports.

    4. To work with Manvers Lake and Dearne Valley Trust Limited, the community and other partners to encourage the appropriate use and management of Manvers Lake and the surrounding area.

    Group activities

    We are open during day light hours, 7 days per week 355 days per year offering a range of outdoor sports activities. Our main focus is on watersports ; open water swimming, windsurfing, sailing, model boating, kayaking & canoeing and angling, however we also offer orienteering, a triathlon and running club and a social section.

    We have a large lake surrounded by maintained footpaths which links to the trans pennine trail which enables bikers, horse riders and walkers to enjoy the lake too.

    We also offer education to local schools and dearne valley college who use our facilities for a range of vocational learning activities.
