Jupeter – Known as Meeting Place is the new organisation following on from Mencap Meeting Place and has been formed in order to provide a safe place for vulnerable people to be able to socialise and relax. Offering weekly social sessions, regular discos, seasonal day trips and supported holidays.
We aim to enable vulnerable individuals to make friends, build self -esteem and grow in confidence. The service we offer also provides respite for family and carers of our client group, by offering them a much needed break from their caring duties.
Our aims are:
- To reduce social isolation and loneliness through the provision of social activities for adults with disabilities and others such as older people in Rotherham.
- To build confidence and self esteem In order to enable people to create their own friendship groups and go on to pursue new hobbies and interests, all of which enhance life, health, happiness and wellbeing.
Our services are primarily for people age 18 and above who have a learning difficulty or disability however we are open to anyone who is disabled, older or mental health needs.
