    Group aims

Rotherham Hawks Basketball Club was formed in the 1990’s, when the council ceased to run Basketball as an activity, to provide basketball training and competitive basketball for children of all ages.

Since the clubs inception the membership has grown to include an adult section and our players have competed in Junior National League, Adult Local League and Local Junior Central Venue Leagues wherever possible. We have had a few players selected to play at County level in national tournaments.

We are a Basketball England 2 star accredited club run by volunteers.

We aim to be an inclusive club, welcoming anyone who is interested in playing basketball and the competitive outlets we attend vary in levels of intensity and technical ability. The training we offer is delivered by coaches who have attended courses approved by Basketball England, the National Governing body and includes a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities session.

We actively encourage our players to participate in all opportunities that basketball has to offer including coaching, refereeing and table officiating qualifications and activities.

Our training presently takes place at two local venues, Thomas Rotherham College and Thrybergh Sports Centre.
