What is Rotherham Parent Carers Forum?

Our organisation aims to reduce isolation for families, by ensuring there are opportunities to meet others and access good quality health, education, social care and leisure provision.

We also work closely with a variety of service providers, sharing the knowledge and experience of our families, helping them to plan and deliver their services as an equal partner (often known as co-production). Some of the support we offer is funded by Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group and the Local Authority. This is with the aim of making sure our families receive the best services possible.

Our vision is that all children, young people and their families living with disabilities/additional needs in our town enjoy the same opportunities, hopes and aspirations as other families in Education, Health, Social Care and leisure.
We bring together parents/carers from across the borough to provide mutual support, share experience, exchange information, and influence policy. We contribute to strategic meetings as equal partners representing the voice of our families.

We are a registered charity and limited company run by a steering groupĀ and board of trustees.

We are active members of the Yorkshire and Humber Regional network of Parent carer forums and the National network of Parent carer forums ensuring national policy reflects the needs of our families and the provision we receive.

Are you the parent/carer of a child with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities ?
