Group Aims & Activities:

SCFG was set up at the start of 2018 by residents of Swinton in order to promote Swinton and it’s local community.

We were set up with a designated Constitution and we currently have 10 Committee members and other volunteers on an ad-hoc basis.

Our aim is to help Swinton become a Safer, Connected, Cleaner and Healthier place to live.

We currently undertake numerous litter picks throughout the year and organise a Christmas Fayre each year and last year a St George’s event. We also organise and erect poppies throughout Swinton for a period of two weeks around Remembrance day. We get involved with other events where possible and have organised for example a yoga class in Swinton. We also try to raise funds for the group for the benefit of the local community.

We work with Local Councillors, Neighbourhood Coordinators from RMBC, local shops, schools, residents etc for the benefit of local residents. Volunteers are always welcome, please contact us through our facebook page or by the email address as shown.

The following photos help illustrate some of the group’s activities covering from left to right:

  • Christmas Fair at Swinton Civic in 2019, various craft stalls and over 450 in attendance.
  • Litter pick around Swinton Civic centre, 38 bags of rubbish collected.
  • Part of the Swinton Poppy display 2019.
