The Brelms Trust is a small Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), originally set up as a Charitable Trust in 2007, offering grants to a wide variety of charities and community projects. Funding is given exclusively to charities based in Yorkshire and directly benefitting only Yorkshire communities.
Priority in our grant giving is given to charities working at the heart of communities to tackle disadvantage and to provide sustainable benefit to the community. Applications are welcomed from a diversity of organisations and can cover staff salaries, volunteer expenses and running costs, as well as direct service provision.
Grants are awarded from £1,000 to a maximum of £5,000 per year, either as a one-off grant or up to a maximum of 3 consecutive years. Therefore, a grant can total between £3,000 – £15,000 per application over a 3 year period.
The Trustees meet quarterly, usually in March, June, September and December, to make grant awards. Applications are assessed throughout the year therefore, applications are invited now.
The Trust does not generally support the total cost of a project, and applicants should demonstrate that wider funding plans are in place.
