Group aims:
The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) is a community volunteering charity connecting people and green spaces for happier, healthier communities for everyone.
The South Yorkshire team work in partnership with the Land Trust to manage seven community woodlands with a diverse range of habitats, wildlife and leisure opportunities; engaging with volunteers and delivering a varied programme of free events and training courses.
TCV manages Kiveton and Dinnington Community Woodlands in Rotherham. Both sites have an active biweekly Green Gym on a Thursday morning where volunteers do a range of practical conservation tasks to help improve the woodland such as tree planting, fence removal and wildlife habitat creation.
Both sites are great for leisure activities and have a network of paths ideal for dog walking, running and cycling and they both boast great views. Kiveton has several ponds and woodland areas to explore while Dinnington has a bird hide over looking a wetland area that can be viewed on occasions throughout the year.
