Group Aims and Activities:

The Learning Community is a Community Hub situated in the heart of Dinnington, Sheffield.

We offer  a hoodle of support mechanisms to include:

  • Rotherham Social Prescribing and RDASH Link NHS Contracts – We are a prime provider and in our 5th year supporting both Mental Health and Long Term Condition patients increase skills in IT, Employability and Functional Skills.  Our focus is to remove or decrease social inclusion barriers, increase mental wellbeing by teaching new skills to increase confidence, motivation and ability.
  • Food parcels – we currently provide food parcels to families and children referred to us by multi-agent providers to include RMBC, Children’s Centres, Schools, Homeless Centres, Domestic Violence or Family Liaison Officers.  This is referral only provision and between March 2020 and March 2021 we provided over 175 families (to include over 400 children) with fresh produce and ingredients to cook healthy and filling meals.  Some of these families also received full Christmas and Easter Hampers as well as weekly food parcels for a period of time.  Half Term is always very busy for us.
  • Employability Skills – We offer both face to face and online platforms to help remove barriers and skills gaps, increase knowledge, capabilities and confidence whilst improving enhancing current or increasing new skills around the world of Employment. Working with Employers such as Engie, South Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Roy Hatfields and many more opens up employment opportunities and personal development.  We offer a Pre Employment Training Workbook course or 2  Employability online Platforms (Skills 2 Success and Future Learn).
  • Maths and English – whether you need to refresh or increase current and learn new skills whilst working towards accreditation we can support you if you are signed on one of our many funded programmes.
  • IT Support groups – we offer drop in sessions at our office in Dinnington to those interested in learning new skills.

All of the above are free to the beneficiary.

We cover all of South Yorkshire and have a significant presence in Rotherham and Doncaster.

We also offer AAT Level 2, 3 or 4 Training on a commercial basis, keeping our costs far lower than local colleges and boast a 100% success rate.

We are always looking to create new productive partner relations and would welcome opportunities to discuss further.  Please contact Karen Shaw on 07793940848 to discuss any of the above or email
