Group aims:

Voluntary Action Rotherham (VAR) provides advice and support services to voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups and organisations across Rotherham.

We campaign on behalf of the voluntary and community groups and ensure the sector has a strong voice, enabling it to influence decisions locally. We also carry out research and promote the work of the VCS in Rotherham.

We are passionate about the VCS and the difference it makes to local people – their needs, their energy and their commitment and drive.

Group activities:

We provide a range of services, offering advice, help and support in the following areas:

• Volunteering and volunteer opportunities
• Professional accountancy, payroll, HR and financial management
• Hire of modern office and meeting space
• Support on commissioning, tendering and bid writing
• Network and consortium working
• Giving you a voice in local decision making, research, lobbying and the Compact
• Administration
• Information and publications for the VCS
