Winthrop Gardens is a one-acre Community Gardens at the end of Second Lane, off Morthen Rd. In the ownership of Wickersley Parish Council since 2016, it includes the Gardens, Tea Rooms and Curiosity Corner.
Designed for peace and tranquillity, Winthrop is inclusive and accessible to all and wheelchair friendly throughout. The Winthrop ethos is very much about extending the warmest of welcomes to those who need that extra little bit of friendship and support.

We re-open on Tuesday 1st February 2022
Our regular weekday openings are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays between 10.30am and 3.00pm
No need to reserve a table – plenty of indoor, outdoor – and sheltered seating. And please remember that we prefer CASH
Winthrop Wednesday Walks
RESTART on Wednesday 2nd February 2022
Elizabeth, who has taken on the leadership role for the Wednesday Walks has brought together a really good group of walkers. She’s worked hard to develop a variety of walks and find out lots of interesting information about the walks and places they visit / pass!
ANYONE CAN JOIN THE GROUP
Walkers meet at Winthrop at 10.30am every Wednesday morning to do a local circular walk of about an hour / 2-3 miles – all at a pace to suit every walker.
So – if you are interested, get those boots out and join us at Winthrop at 10.30 on Wednesdays
We’ll have refreshments ready for you on your return!

Run by a team of 50+ volunteers Winthrop offers a range of volunteering opportunities – particularly in the Gardens and Tea Rooms.
