Group User Guide

To register a new group:

Click on the ‘register’ box then enter a user name and email address. A link will be emailed to that address for you to create and activate a free account for the Gismo website. Once this is done you will become a registered group and have access to the same options as listed below.

To login as a registered group:

Click on the ‘login’ box then enter your username or email address and unique password to access these options:

  • View (to see the group’s existing page as it appears to visitors)
  • Edit (to update any details appearing on the group’s page)
  • Delete (to remove the whole page from the website)
  • Add Calendar Entry (to add details of a regular activity)
  • Register Another Group (to create a new page for another service or activity)

To edit an existing page or create a new one:

Click on the ‘Edit’ option then complete the online form before clicking the ‘Publish’ button at the end of the page. A message will appear explaining the changes have been sent to the Gismo administrator and are ‘awaiting moderation’ and we will always aim to implement the changes asap. The form covers the following topics, and it can be useful to prepare some details in advance:

  • Group name (you can also add a logo if available)
  • Short description of the group (an example of how this can be presented appears below)
  • Further information (this text appears under the address box on the right side of the page)
  • Filters: Services or activities … (tick all the appropriate boxes on the list)
  • Filters: Who is it for … (tick the relevant boxes for your group)
  • Contact details (add the relevant name, email, phone, address, website, social media pages)

To add a calendar entry:

Click on the ‘add calendar entry’ option then complete the online form before clicking the ‘Submit’ button at the end of the page. A message will appear explaining the changes have been sent to the Gismo administrator and are ‘awaiting moderation’ and we will always aim to implement the changes asap. The form covers the following topics, and it can be useful to prepare some details in advance:

  • Event name (you can also add a logo if available)
  • When (add dates and times – plus use the tick box and day box if a recurring event)
  • Where (add location details or tick box if the event doesn’t have a physical location)
  • Details (add a brief description of the benefits and features of the event)
  • Event image (add a logo or photo to help promote the event)
